Gather the Right Supplies
To get started drawing your parakeet you’ll need just a few basic supplies. For this project all you will need is some paper and pencils (or markers if desired).
You can use traditional graphite pencils or colored art pencils for shading – whatever works for you! Selecting the right type of paper is also important.
It should be thick enough to handle erasing and blending, but not so thick that it’s difficult to draw on.
If possible try to find sketching paper specifically designed for drawing.
This type of paper usually has tooth which helps grip onto the graphite from your pencils better than plain printer paper would.
Once you’ve gathered up all your supplies its time to start sketching!
Outline Your Bird’s Shape
The first step in how to draw a parakeet is outlining its shape.Begin by lightly sketching an oval shape with two circles inside it representing the head and body of the bird respectively.
Add in two more circles beneath these shapes – one slightly larger than the other – as they will form your bird’s legs later on in the process.
These initial lines do not have to be perfect as they are simply guides that we’ll build off of later on when adding details like feathers and wings etc.
.
But keep them light and easy to erase since we may need make adjustments as we continue down our path of creating this charming little parrot!
Add Feather Details & Color
Once your outline is complete its time add feather detail into our bird’s body along with color where appropriate too! Start by adding curved lines along each side of your bird’s body starting at their neck region working towards their tail area; think about how real life birds look like when flapping their wings or ruffling their feathers – Aim for something similar here too!.Next decide what colors suit best; remember most parrots tend come in different shades greens blues red yellows oranges etc.
.
Feel free select whichever combination looks best against each other but don’t forget shade them using either hatching/cross-hatched technique or stippling dots depending upon preference – both methods work equally well!.
Finally once satisfied with results go ahead erase any unnecessary guidelines left behind replace them instead neat clean line work give edges nice finished look without compromising overall design integrity whatsoever making sure everything looks proportional before moving onto next stage!
Draw Wings & Feet
Now let’s move onto drawing our parakeets wings feet claws etc.
.
Start by lightly sketching out four separate triangular shapes arranged symmetrically around main oval shape previously drawn earlier represent wing tips then gently curve top part each triangle blend seamlessly into contours back piece ensure nothing seems disconnected random looking afterwards fill inner parts intricately detailed feather patterns feathers gradually become smaller closer together nearer extremities result being realistic looking set intricate yet beautiful wings ! Moving downwards begin shaping legs feet toes claws make sure none appear identical mirror images another way giving illusion movement dynamism rather static lifeless image sticking same principle whilst finalizing details such eyes bill nostrils etc.
.
.
When done properly these fine nuances help create sense realism bring character life thus rendering picture much closer actual representation subject matters.
